Sometime in our life we all felt and experience the power of God's love. We were consumed by His divine love and all we know is that we believe Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Yet somehow as we go on along with our journey the path we choose take us to broken roads and we forget the love of God and choose to ignore His will in our life.
I was just reading up some testimonies of Bro. Branham's ministry. It amazes me that even though these witnesses have seen so many wonderful and amazing work of God first-hand - some of them did not continue believing. They were there, they saw everything - felt the power of God in every meeting, yet they chose to travel a broken road.
I too sometimes find myself in the midst of a broken road, and it feels like the Lord is so far away and I feel so lost. We all get sucked-in by life's many demands; work, work and more work that we forget to set aside the time to just be with God and get directions as to which path to choose. Often times when I don't have the time to pray in the morning, that's when I feel the most pressured and unsure - loneliness fills my heart and a deep longing to just be able to feel His presence once again.
There is a song that I almost make a prayer, and it say something like "save me from my erring way and restore my faith". I am waiting for the Lord's return, anticipating, looking forward to it's fulfillment and I pray that the Lord will be merciful that I stay the path no matter what. It's not in the times of great trials that I fear the most but it's complacency - when everything seems to be working out fine; that's the time when I find myself choosing a broken road to travel.
I can say our greatest trial is not of sword or famine - but it's the lack of burning passion, a zeal to follow the will of God everyday of our lives. It's hard sometimes to stay the path and another road may seem so inviting-but let's not forget they are all broken roads and leads to nothing.
Let's all strive to serve God with zeal in our hearts everyday of our lives.
